Land Acknowledgement: We acknowledge that our MyXC Saturday Ski Club resides within Mni Sota Makoce - A Dakota Place and that this land has been the homeland of the Dakota people and the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ (Seven Council Fire) for every generation since their creation at Bdote. Mni Sota - the land where waters reflect the clouds - is Indigenous land. We encourage all members of our ski community to join us in learning more about the people, contributions, sovereignty, and treaty rights of the Dakota People. The MyXC Organization and Club will continue to strengthen our relationship with Mni Sota’s eleven sovereign nations and indigenous communities, families, and athletes.
Backup Plan: In the event of no snow, we will meet at Hyland, Saturdays at 4:15pm-5:45pm.

Welcome to the Hiawatha Saturday afternoon Ski Club. We are so excited about the 2026 ski season! Whether your family is new to cross-country skiing or you're a veteran Ski Club participant or volunteer, we are excited to have you in our club.

If you've ended up here looking for the Saturday morning club that is because as of the 2025 season the Saturday morning club has been merged with the Saturday afternoon club and the decision was made to keep the afternoon time.

Ski Club is volunteer-led and our success depends upon family involvement. We encourage every family to help in some way. For more information on volunteering or to sign-up please visit the MyXC website volunteer portal. Returning volunteers do need to do a new volunteer sign-up.

- THANK YOU to our awesome coaches, assistant coaches, and sweepers (these folks get advanced registration. Please sign up!)
- We are planning to have post-club snacks again this season so look for the sign-up as we get this organized.
- The Hiawatha Hustle is our capstone event at the end of the season and we will need lots of volunteers to make it an awesome afternoon! This is a fun, end of season, celebration of skiing with ALL Hiawatha Ski Clubs. We haven't made a decision on date for the event this year but we're hopeful that after two years of bad weather we'll be able to hold it again in 2026.

Schedule

We will meet for eight Saturdays beginning January 3rd, 2026 at Hiawatha Golf Course. Our last club meeting will be February 21st.

***Please note that the first session or two we are going to be assessing the skills of skiers to ensure that we have groups that make sense skill-wise for Coaches. If you're not sure which level your skier should be in there's a couple of things to check. First, if this is not your first year with MyXC then login to the website and go to your family dashboard. Many skiers (but not all) will have a skill report card there with a recommendation from their coach last year on which level to sign up for. Please note that the report cards for 2025 are mis-labeled as 2024 right now. If you're new to MyXC or your skier dos not have a skill report card check these skills cards or this link from SkiSparks for some idea. If you have any questions about level assignment please feel free to email.***

Session Location and Timing

We ski at the Hiawatha Golf Course and meet in the open area just south of the Solomon R. Hughes Sr. Clubhouse. Ski club starts at 2PM. Level 1 skiers will meet for 60 minutes. Levels 2-6 will meet for 90 minutes.

Backup Session Location and Timing

If snow conditions at Hiawatha Golf Course don't allow skiing for all of our levels we will meet at our backup location at Hyland Lake Park Reserve. 10145 Bush Lake Road Bloomington, MN 55438. Unfortunately we cannot get a permit to start at our usual 2PM time so if we ski at Hyland we will start at 4:15PM.

Registration

Registration will open in October with dates as follows:

October 1st: Phase 1 for leadership team members.

October 9th: Phase 2 for coaches, assistant coaches, and level 4-6 sweepers.

TBD: Phase 3 for additional volunteers not covered in Phase 2.

TBD: Phase 4 open registration.

Phase 4 registration will not open unless there are enough volunteers to safely run the ski club. The best way to guarantee a registration and rentals is to volunteer.

Minneapolis Parks Ski Passes

Hiawatha is a natural snow park and ski passes are required for all skiers age 12 and older. All on-snow volunteers will also need ski passes. For more information on ski passes and to see if you qualify for a discount please click this link.
