SKILL LEVEL: For skiers ready to set goals and commit to structured training and racing.
DURATION: Multiple sessions per week available in three seasons, led by professional coaches.
What is Skicraft?
Skicraft and is intended for skiers wishing to train 3 days a week with us in the summer, fall, and winter. It is designed to allow skiers to participate in another program like summer running, biking or a winter high school ski team. The goal of the program is to prepare athletes ages 14-18 to compete at the highest junior regional and national level events. Training is based on the LTAD program. Skicraft programing is built on developing skiers to compete at Junior National Qualifiers.

Summer Schedule
Summer training program starts June 10th runs 9 weeks through August 9th. Summer training is focused on gaining confidence in technique, building a strong aerobic base through both roller skiing, dryland training, and building on the general strength base. We will do regular interval training (level 3 & level 4) and regular level 1 volume/continuous distance workouts. In order to improve and make gains, one must practice and train consistently.
- Monday: 8am Rollerski Workout at Anne Sullivan Intervals on River Road Hill
- Wednesday: 8am Long distance rollerski/bike/running Mendota Heights followed by Strength in the afternoon.
- Thursday: 8 am Roller Ski Workout
Fall Schedule

First week in December – mid March. Theodore Wirth Park is the primary meeting place. Some training will take place at other venues depending on snow conditions and goals of the workout.
We will work with High School programs to provide training plans for athletes who are training and racing with their High School team.
- Mondays: 4pm-5:30pm
- Thursdays: 4pm-5:30pm
- Fridays: Generally no practice on Friday, but on race weekends we will train together at the race venue- 4:00-5:30 pm
- Saturdays/Sundays generally 10am Racing or training. Practices will be scheduled sporadically through the winter.

Check the schedules and email Simon with questions! Any season is a great time to start. Skiers need running shoes and helmets in the, summer and fall. Please try to register at least two weeks before the session starts.

Highlights of Skicraft
- Workouts focus on and include a variety of speed work, agility drills, strength and flexibility, as well as endurance training.
- Skicraft has a dedicated and certified coaches with prior coaching/collegiate/professional racing experience.
- Formal and ongoing training plan tracking and development specific to age group.
- Ski culture/next steps/how to become a ski racer and/or stay active and healthy for life tutorials.
Requirements
- Age 14 as of Dec 31
- For dryland training, rollerskis, helmets, poles and running shoes
- For on snow training, waxable or skin classic skis, skate skis, two pairs of poles and combi/skate boots. We highly recommend attending the MyXC Ski Swap in November.
