Bring the joy of winter to youth in your community with our integrated and sustainable club options. Whether you are starting a new MyXC club or converting an existing club to MyXC, we can help!

MyXC is a leader in endurance youth sports and we've proudly adopted the seven System Factors Influencing Long-term Development in Sport and Physical Activity.

Collaboration: The system has an opportunity to improve collaboration between organizations, sectors, and systems to support the optimal development of the individual athlete to succeed.
System Alignment: The system has education, programs, and pathways that should be aligned in content and language to maximize effectiveness.
Safe and Welcoming: The system should plan to welcome all participants by providing Safe Sport programming. Diversity is a reality and corresponding participant-centered programs supporting diversity are a necessity.
Diversification: The system should support an individual to participate in many activities and multiple sports to develop a well-rounded set of skills.
Long-Term Development: The system must not apply pressure for immediate success, but allow for individuals to take time to develop excellence. Sport organizations and funding agencies must reward long-term impact over short-term outputs.
Continuous Improvement: The system is continuously seeking to improve and evolve to accommodate new breakthroughs in sports science and physical literacy research, new innovations in technology, and evolving best practices in coaching and instruction.
Evidence Based: The system gathers evidence through assessment, monitoring, and research to shift paradigms.

SkiSparks

Criteria to Start a MyXC Skisparks Club or Program

Potential for 10 skiers (ages 4-14)
Dedication to 8 weeks of programming focusing on FUNdamentals and physical literacy
SkiSparks is our "Learn to Ski" program. If you are looking for a youth racing program, please see Skiwerx below
Clubs typically meet Saturday or Sunday afternoons in January and February for 1.5 hours per meeting
Sufficient volunteer coaches and a designated Leader
Clubs do not have to be in Minnesota!

SkiSparks Club Details

Recreational, 8 week program for ages 4-14
Pricing per youth skier is $30 - $40 depending location and size of club
No additional charge for volunteer registration and background checks
Clubs typically add $10 to the registration fee for a dedicated club budget
There are NO processing fees!

MyXC Famous "Club in a Box" includes:

Integrated MyXC registration system, club web page and club management portal
Volunteer registration, back ground checks and SafeSport/MAAPP Compliance (no additional fee)
- ALL organizations serving youth are required by Federal Law to be MAAPP compliant. This includes registration, training and back ground checks for all staff, volunteers and board members.
- Tracking of Concussion Certification for volunteers
- Volunteer Roles and job descriptions to keep your club sustainable

Color coded, six skill levels for on-snow organization including:

SkiSparks Curriculum (phone App): daily lesson plans for six skill levels, eight weeks
MyXC Level Award pins
MyXC bibs with name tag pocket (for color coding)
MyXC coach bibs, color-coded by skill level
On snow MyXC Level signs for your meeting area

MyXC fleece hat for first year skiers
Scholarship fund (automatically covered as part of registration)
Non-profit status (often required for permits or local fundraising)
Insurance (Liability, Secondary Medical, loss of club equipment)
Legal/Financial Compliance (state registration, tax filing, etc)

SkiSparks Club Equipment Program

To Be Eligible

An affordable rental fee should be charged to raise funds to expand the fleet of skis (generally $45-$60/child)
Club is responsible for maintenance, storage, distribution and waxing of the equipment
A minimum of 12 skiers renting each year.

MyXC provides

12 sets of waxless classic skis
Online collection of rental fees and sizing info per child
Dedicated fund to expand club fleet in future years
Great prices (wholesale or better) on equipment purchases for club fleet
Temperature tested equipment labels
Research and vetting of the most appropriate and durable youth equipment

SkiSparks Club Leader

We are looking for an enthusiastic adult who has a passion for getting kids and their families outside in the winter to learn the sport of cross country skiing. SkiSparks is an eight-week MyXC Club Program. The main responsibilities of a club leader:

Be a welcoming presence to families in the club and be available each week to answer questions and support the club.
Provide parent support and communication to help cross country skiing be a positive experience for families.
Coordinate coaches and other volunteers throughout the season.

Sending helpful advice, encouragement, task reminders, and answers to your questions throughout the season
Connecting you to other clubs and leaders
Providing pre and post season Leadership Trainings

New Skiwerx Club/Program

Skills program for ages 9-14.
Head coach should work towards USSA or PSIA Coach Certification
Typically meets for 1.5 hour sessions twice per week December-early March
Skiwerx clubs can meet year-round for alternative activities
Skiers must rent or own waxable or skin classic and skating skis
Base price is $40 per skier for Skiwerx Clubs running registration through MyXC, with varied budgeting options available (we cover processing fee in most cases).
Includes race hat for first year skiers.
Scholarships available
Pricing per skier for Skiwerx Affiliated Programming in a US Ski and Snowboard Club is $25.
